It IS the beginning of August, and knowing Minnesota, anything can happen. However, the atmosphere is tierd out, and will be for a while.
I would not justify that it is fall yet. The only way we can be certain is that the trees are changing color, and the birds are migrating to the south. I see none of that. Anything can happen. YOU JUST DON'T KNOW. What drives most of us weather geeks is the fact that weather is an enigma, and absolutly nothing is 100% certain.
I would be very surprised if we hit 90 degrees again. I just think this is a fundamental change in the weather and before it "corrects," it will be too late for late unseasonable warmth to take us to 90.
It's not over yet, although the worst of the heat is behind us. But low 80s with humidity is typical this time of the year, and we'll still see plenty of those days before the end of the month.
Here is a closer look at tomorrow risk areas, the bright green line is a 2% Tornado risk, the other two bluish lines show where the 15% hail and wind risk are.
Could not be happier about a forecast high of 70.
ReplyDeleteHopefully not. It already feels like October out there :(
ReplyDeleteIts only the beginning of August. There still can be a heat wave.
ReplyDeleteWell it would make the most sense that temps get back to "normal". Therefore, no, we are in fall now....
ReplyDeleteImagine how nice it would be to get three months of October weather. Except for the flowers that is...
ReplyDeleteBe careful what you say...

And here is what the local WRF model from the Duluth WFO looks like for tomorrow at 7pm. I wish that MPX would make theirs available.
